Amorolfine Official Description

Official Product Description:

Amorolfine is a nail lacquer used for mild fungal nail infections, mostly for toenails because they are the most affected by fungus. Mild fungal nail infections cases include affected areas beneath the tip or the sides of the nail, caused often by yeast, dermatophytes and mold. Affected nails can appear discolored, yellow or white and may even thicken and start to separate from the nail bed. This condition does not go away on its own if left untreated. Dermatophytes also cause Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis) and Ringworm (Tinea Corporis). It is a topical antifungal that is applied through a nail lacquer onto the nail. As it is applied and the dissolvent evaporates, a deposit of Amorolfine is left on the nail and it works for the next seven days.

Editor's Recommendation

Editor's Recommendation:

When treating nail fungus, you will not see any visible changes on the first three months of treatment. Always keep track of the applications so you do not miss an application or apply the lacquer too much. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or other sensitive areas if the lacquer is on your hands. Patients have reported a burning sensation after applying the lacquer, this is normal. We recommend that you use impermeable gloves before and after treatment if you are working with water. You should also wear open shoes to prevent toenail fungus. Always dispose of products like nail files and cleaning pads after you have used them, as they can carry the fungus and you will either spread it or worsen the condition. Amorolfine should be avoided when pregnant or breast-feeding and there are no cases of complications during pregnancy. This product is not recommended for people under 18 years of age. People who are pre-disposed to fungal infections like peripheral circulatory disorders and diabetes and AIDS should consult their doctor before using this product.

Overall, this medication has received mixed reviews, possibly because this medication is excellent at treating and eradicating yeast infections rather than other types of fungal infections. It also doesn’t penetrate under the nail as other medications. This medication isn’t the strongest available in the market, but overall seems to be very effective treating nail yeast infections.
